How We Started Huxxle, A Letter From Me.
Huxxle News
If you grew up in Nigeria, you probably know someone who runs a business. Maybe it's your mum selling provisions. Maybe it's your friend who bakes or sells clothes. Maybe it's you. In my case, it was my mum. She ran her business with everything she had, every day selling, calculating, delivering, and starting again. But there was one problem that never went away... money was moving, but nothing was adding up.

She kept her records in a ledger, cash in & cash out, but when it was time to restock, she always had to start calling people who owed her. It became a cycle, a struggle to restock, use personal money, and repeat. The business looked busy, but it wasn't growing.
"The business looked busy, but it wasn't growing." — This is the reality for millions of Nigerian small businesses
The Same Story, Everywhere
Early in 2023, I was talking with my close friend Ahmod, a data analyst. He told me about a client who had the same problem, a business in transition, with no real numbers, no growth, and no profit. Just vibes and "God go do am." That's when we stopped and asked ourselves... Is this a problem unique to one person, or is it happening everywhere?

So we did some research. We spoke to business owners, both offline and online, and what we found honestly was mindblowing:
- Most couldn't say exactly how much they made in a month or year
- Many don't track their debtors
- They use pen and paper, or nothing like "alajo somolu"
- They feel overwhelmed, alone, and stuck
- Many businesses fail not because the idea is bad, but because the system is broken.
The Hard Truth About Nigerian SMEs: 📊Over 50% of SMEs fail in their first year of operation, and more than 95% of SMEs fail within their first five years 💔 Main reasons: Poor money management, lack of capital, no structure, no support
Just vibes and 'God go do am'" — This phrase captures how many Nigerian businesses operate without proper systems.
We Couldn't Just Watch
That's when Huxxle was born.

At first, we called it Katajere, a Yoruba word meaning "to do business and be profitable." But as we got ready to launch, we changed it to Huxxle, a name that felt more like home. You know how we say, "This is my main hustle" or "side hustle"?
From Katajere to Huxxle, We wanted a name that felt like home. "Hustle" is part of every Nigerian's vocabulary — it's how we describe our work, our passion, our survival.

Yeah. That's us. But we wanted to make hustling easier. Smarter. Less stressful. So our slogan became:
"We handle the hassle, you enjoy the hustle."

When It Became Real
We launched our test version on April 1st, 2025, at our university, FUNAAB. We just wanted to see how students and small vendors would react to this innovation. Then something amazing happened. A businesswoman, Abike Kitchen Essentials from Osun State came across a WhatsApp post, signed up, added over 80 products, and by the next day, she had already generated over ₦120,000 in sales.
First Big Win: 🎯 One WhatsApp post 🛍️ 80+ products added 💰 ₦120,000+ in sales (24 hours) 🚀 From Osun State

In 6 weeks, over 300 vendors joined, from Abeokuta, Lagos, Oyo, Abuja, and even Bauchi. When they started asking, "How can we find more customers?" So we built Huxxle.Shop, a simple website where customers can find Huxxle vendors near them.

Now, students going back to school can search and shop from local vendors right away. We're building something they never had before. Don't miss out Get Started on Huxxle
Why We Won't Stop
Our mission is simple: To help every Nigerian business run it like a pro, grow faster, and worry less. We want business owners to:
- Spend less time tracking and more time selling
- Stop guessing profits and start seeing them
- Stop burning out and start building up
We're changing the idea that tech is too expensive or "not for us." We're ending the belief that entrepreneurs have to do everything alone.
The Dream Ahead
In 5 to 10 years, we believe Huxxle will become the go-to system for businesses across Africa, the "easy button" for entrepreneurs. People will say: "Huxxle didn't just help my business… it gave me back my time, my energy, and my dreams." The Future We're Building:

- The operating system for African businesses
- The "easy button" for entrepreneurs
- Where business owners get their dreams back
And maybe one day, when someone like my mum opens her phone to restock her store, she won't have to worry about who owes her. She'll just smile, click a few buttons, and keep growing, because everything is handled.
That's the future we're building. And if you believe in it, you're already part of the story.
